Outfit post: One piece 3-ways – Denim jacket take 2

Wearing: Cue dress, Witchery blouse, Witchery denim jacket, Inniu ankle boots, Witchery bag, Colette ring, Sportsgirl sunglasses

Black, denim and white – could there be a more classic combo. And yes they are the same boots from the last post – its like a one piece 3-way double-take?

The thing with many denim jackets is they can be quite boxy – to make it more flattering always try and highlight the waist.

Again the denim helps dress down this fairly dressy dress without it being a weekend mess. Man I need some new material.

I’m back from Melbourne and ready for another stylish week.  I wanted to showcase the denim jacket – promoted by this earlier post.  I wore this for a causal drink date and love how the denim helps to tone down the pink.  I also find I wear my denim jacket with sleeved rolled – it’s the little things that make a difference.  How do you wear you denim jacket?

Melbourne-bound

I’m off to Melbourne tomorrow for a week of shopping and wining and dining with my best friend. I’m also looking forward to being inspired by some great street style. This picture made me think of Melbourne as head-to-toe black has to be the uniform the city. I’ll be taking plenty of outfit shots – so stay tuned.

Have a great and stylish week x

Fab Friday Finds: White shirts for White Shirt day

I have long been a supporter of Witchery’s White Shirt campaign and with it being White Shirt Day tomorrow it felt appropriate to showcase this important initiative. Not only are the pieces super chic – the proceeds go to OCRF to help their fight for an early detection of Ovarian cancer. Style with substance.

As you know, a white shirt is an absolute wardrobe classic, warn against the face it is like turning the light on, and this year’s collection has one for every shape.

This pussy-bow style white blouse has a muted sequin detail and is pretty gorgeous. A couple of things about this top – looks great both tucked into a skirt for work and over skinny pants for drinks. Also – If you are flat-chested create some omph by wearing it tied up at the front.

Second thing – what’s the deal with the name ‘pussy-bow’ ? gross.

I wrote about collar details the other day – they are a bit of a trend at the moment but not too much that you couldn’t wear this shirt for years. Best worn with a few buttons undone for those bigger on top and also belted or possibly tucked if you are on the short side. Perfect with every colour and item in your wardrobe for day and night, winter and summer, work and weekend. You get the picture.

Love the lace broderie detail of this one. Love the idea of toughening it up with a leather pencil skirt or even clashing it with another print. The thing with lace for women is it needs to be worn in a grown up way – I don’t like lace with florals as it feels too little girl to me.

Which is your favourite way to wear a white shirt?

Denim dream

The denim jacket is officially back (although I’m not sure it ever really went away) and is all over the cool set.  I for one have always loved how a denim jacket dresses down an ensemble and adds a bit of edge to an outfit.  I also love the idea of dressing it up – such as buttoning it right up and belting with a pencil skirt for casual Friday at the office.  Here’s some inspiration.  I feel a one piece 3-ways coming on.

Do you have a denim jacket?  How do you wear it?

Cue online store

I’m not sure how long this has been going on but Cue now has an online store – with free shipping during May.  This is exciting news.  Although they only seem to be selling a relatively small amount of pieces online there are some lovely things.

This pencil skirt is so pretty and the floral print is very on-trend (very Givenchy) but such a classic shape.  A must for hourglasses.

Collar detail is so popular at the moment and I love Cue’s take on this classic white shirt.  It’s a little cool edge to your regular button-down.

And the accessories this season are fun and a bit rock. Adore.

Outfit post: One under the belt

Wearing: Veronika Maine dress, belt and coat, Witchery ankle boots, Diva ring, Sportsgirl sunglasses

Argh Mondays – glad I got that one under my belt. I think I’ve mentioned this before but I tend to reach for strong lines and structure when I want to feel empowered and ready to take on the day. I’m big believer in the power of clothes and that what you wear can influence your mood and perception. This outfit does all that. Take that Monday.
I think I will try wearing stripes (shock horror) underneath next time and a coloured belt.

What is your workday armour?

Outfit post: Windy

The big reveal….

Wearing: Veronika Maine coat, top, belt, Laura Ashley skirt, Colette necklace, Inniu heels.

I wore this outfit last week – these photos almost didn’t happen because of that pesky wind. I really don’t enjoy the wind and it makes taking a nice shot pretty tricky. This is also the looking down edition.

How’s your week going?
