Let’s discuss… white heels

white shoes 3white shoes2

White heels are emerging as a big trend for the current spring/summer season in the US and Europe. I’m yet to entirely warm to this trend. There’s something still a little tacky about white shoes for me. I’m not one to usually push the ‘they’re not practical’ line when it comes to shoes but really, good luck keeping them pristine. Scuffed white shoes really isn’t a good look. Sure they lighten up an outfit – but so too does nude or tan shoes.

What are your thoughts- yay or nay?

Outfit post: Casual

Wearing: Emerson jeans, Asos flats, Witchery bag.

I hope you don’t feel a little cheated by the headline. I understand casual doesn’t mean only getting half dressed. And I was intending a full outfit post showing a more casual outfit but all I ended up with were blurry shots . But then I saw this photo (I just love these sparkly flats too much) and knew I had to include it. Somehow. Perhaps by distracting you with a boring story about blurry photos :)

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Fashfest

I had a great time at Fashfest on Saturday. The atmosphere was electric and it was so wonderful to see such a stylish crowd congregate to watch up-and-coming designers showcase their stuff.

So fun catching up with fellow blogger ladies Rose, Zoe and Megan (thanks for helping with the photos Megan).

And I’m glad I wore my faux fur – it was so cold! I wore if over my Cue LBD, with Zomp red heels and Sportsgirl stud clutch.

Fab Friday Finds: Accessories

ffffff

Among the 5439 reasons I love accessories is how they can instantly transform any outfit. Add a fancy scarf or faux fur shawl to a simple white tee and jeans and you’re instantly glamorous. Who knew.

Shoes will love you even on your ‘fat’ days – bless them (Can we talk for a minute about those flats – I mean, really, too much gorgeousness right there) – and nothing beats looking down at a serious arm party.

Runway ready

I’m off to Fashfest this Saturday night. While the action will be on the runway for me I’m always just as interested in what people are wearing off the runway. Such an event usually attracts a stylish crowd so it’s great people watching. It can also be a little intimidating knowing what to wear. I think the key is not to try too hard or be something that you’re not – just be the best version of you. It’s also a great chance to show off something new or treasured.

Me? I’m actually glad it’s going to be cold so I can debut my new love.

Isn’t she a beauty? I’m thinking either belted over white jeans with red heels or over a full-skirted LBD. With something this fabulous I plan to keep the rest of the outfit fairly classic. But still a bit fierce. I’ll take some snaps of the final ensemble.

Enjoy the rest of your week lovelies.

Outfit post: On repeat

Wearing: Witchery jacket and bag, Old Navy Tee, countryroad skirt, Wittner heels, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

Remember this skirt? It’s certainly getting a workout. For this ensemble I wore it with a casual military jacket and simple white tee to tone down the sequins for Sunday brunch. Yes I was still way over dressed (story of my life).

Have you got anything on-repeat in your wardrobe?

Fab Friday Find: Wear white and save a life

Fab Friday Find: Wear white and save a life

I’m a huge supporter of Witchery’s white shirt campaign. It is terrifying and unacceptable that one woman dies every 10 hours from ovarian cancer. 100% of the proceeds from this important campaign go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation to fund research into early detection. It is such a worthy cause.

And the latest pieces? Gorgeous. I’ve picked a few of my faves –a lace button up, silk blouse and shirt with studded collar detail. Oh and that tee is too cute! There are also some great accessories in the campaign like this sequin collar and there are also options for that man in your life.

It’s a cliche (and for a good reason) but a white shirt is a must-have item is ANY women’s wardrobe. Except perhaps for the LBD, there isn’t an item any more important to own. They go with EVERYTHING from pencil skirts at work, that fancy datenight mini or jeans on the weekend – they are your wardrobe warrior. Worn tucked in, out, tied at the waist or belted they have the ability to step any outfit up a notch.
