Fab Friday Find: A must-have

leather (2)

Yummy leather skirt alert! This Saba one is a little pricey but oh so worth it if you have the coin. The black leather is buttery soft and this a-line cut is universally flattering. While leather pencil skirts are pretty common I’ve spotted a few of these shapes coming in to the shops for winter – including a similar (and cheaper) version at Sussan. A black leather skirt is totally a wardrobe no-brainer – appropriate for every age and shape and will be in your wardrobe for life.

You already know how to wear a black skirt but to make the leather not seem too heavy as we hold on to these last days of summer – pair it with a striped tee or bright tank and nude wedges. Also pretty fabulous with a white or cream blazer for work. Love it with collared white shirt (done all the way up) with a loose grey-marle sweater over the top for winter. And the list goes on.

Happy Friday!!!

Spread the love

Spread the love

Happy Valentine’s day! Whether you are off on a big date or spending it with girlfriends – I think it’s a fun opportunity to embrace girly colours, shapes and patterns. If wearing pink isn’t your thing – wearing bright/flirty accessories like red pumps are just as fun.
Have you got any V-day plans?

Outfit post: Latte

latte 2final

Wearing: Veronika Maine jacket, Witchery blouse and bag, Trenery skirt, Portmans belt, Sole Society shoes.

Sometimes I struggle with something clever to call my posts.  As I walked into the loungeroom on this day my husband said: ‘You look like a giant latte’. Thanks honey… I think.  Anyway I guess he was sort of right – I was trying to achieve a monochromatic look based on creams and caramels.  Wearing variations of one colour family is super chic and flattering. The red lip adds the exclamation point.

Fab Friday Find: Crisp

l (2)

My love for trench coats runs deep. This crisp white number is my latest crush. Please don’t be put off by the stark white – it’s fabulous and can be very flattering. So perfect with summer bights now but also equally fab with dark winter hues – including over all black. I would play around with belts. I wouldn’t play around with my food though – this white trench requires polite eating (or at least a giant napkin).   If you’ve got the legs, try wearing it all done up as a dress.

Do you share my trench fetish?

Outfit post: Pink and camo

pink1pink2Wearing: Sussan top, Witchery jacket, Emerson for Big W jeans, Wittner heels, Zara bag, Sportsgirl sunglasses, Colette earrings.

I wore this outfit to a casual date with my hubby over the weekend. I really like how the camo green jacket dresses down the fuchsia shirt (see how I wore this same shirt here)

As we enter the month of love I’m looking forward to wearing more red and pink themed ensembles – have you got plans for Valentines day? What will you be wearing?

Fab Friday Find: Furry

furry

It may be sweltering outside but I’ve already got my eye on the next season’s duds – including winter coats.

As someone who lives in a place where it gets c-o-l-d I already have couple of great options – but I want something a bit more fun. Enter this (faux) furry beauty (on mega sale right now).

Animal print has really become a neutral and this type of coat is so easy to adapt into most wardrobes. Over black anything (obvi) but also with pretty much anything – creams and whites, burgundy/oxblood, navy, red – and I’m dying to recreate something like this.

I think the key to these jackets if finding one that looks expensive with a good quality leopard print, a cut that works for you as well as a decent weight. I really think it can work on all ages.

Happy Happy Friday!

Hope your week is going great.

Fab Friday Find: An obvious choice

dress2

As you may have learnt by now, this girl loves her stripes. Thick, thin, coloured, chevron – I’ll take it. So naturally I am drawn to this Trenery cotton shirt dress. It’s a little loose in shape so good in this heat. Petite ladies can probably get away with it as is (would look swell with a fedora) but I also like it belted (think red, navy, tan) if you have more of an hourglass shape.  And don’t be put off by the wide stripes – they can work.  Throw on some sandals, ballets flats or a wedge heel and a cool pair of sunglasses and you’re good to go. I also think it will work well in the cooler months layered over long sleeve tees or shirts – something like this.

I realise I’ve done a lot of black and white finds lately but other than it being a classic palette- it is also all the rage for the next spring/summer (here and here).

Hope you have a great long weekend x

Fave look of the week: Proportion

curves1

Another fabulous outfit from Tanesha – this gal totally understands how to complement her killer curves. Getting the proportions right is key. The full skirt is extremely flattering and is offset by the high neckline and statement necklace. So polished and stylish – also very work appropriate.

Fab Friday Find: Girly

spade3

Seriously, how ridiculously adorable is this Kate Spade skirt?!!! The cut is sublime. Although the pattern may seem a bit much for some – the fact that it is black and white makes it so easy to style – think fuchsia blouse, denim chambray shirt, even polka dot top? Of course to play down the cute-ness factor you could bring the sass with a black blazer or leather tee and tough black ankle boots (or booties). And don’t get me started on those silver flats.

Happy Friday xx
