Wearing: Witchery jacket and bag, Old Navy Tee, countryroad skirt, Wittner heels, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

Remember this skirt? It’s certainly getting a workout. For this ensemble I wore it with a casual military jacket and simple white tee to tone down the sequins for Sunday brunch. Yes I was still way over dressed (story of my life).

Have you got anything on-repeat in your wardrobe?

Outfit post: Mish-mash

Wearing: Big W top and jeans, Jcrew chambray shirt, Witchery jacket and bag, Innui heels, Bangles from Diva, Colette and Asos.

I wore this over the weekend. I felt like wearing some of my fave items. Together. This was the result – quite a layered look. I kept it flattering by balancing out the loose layers with a fitted stripe tee, slim cut jeans and heels. Also the jacket helped define the waist with the drawstring detail. There’s something about lots of bangles that feels good. And a bit cool.

What were you wearing this weekend?

Outfit post: Weekend chill

Wearing: Witchery jacket, BigW top, Veronika Maine skirt, Colette necklace and ring, Witchery bag, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

Don’t mind me – just here posing in a public garden, looking up at the heavens. The things I do for an outfit shot! We’re having some gorgeous Autumn weather in the nation’s capital. Hope you had a great weekend too :)

Outfit post: Casual Friday

Wearing: Witchery jacket, Countryroad shirt, Target skirt, Wittner heels, Witchery bag, Colette ring, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

I wore this outfit a couple of Fridays ago. This is my version of a fairly smart casual Friday outfit. I love how the casual cargo jacket dresses down the black and white. The leopard heels add some fun. The messy hair wasn’t planned but I guess it fits with the whole casual vibe, right?

What do you wear for casual Friday?

Transition dressing – Part 2

Transition dressing - Part 2

Maxi dresses are a staple in many ladies wardrobes in summer – but what to do with it when the temperature drops?  Layering is the key – try a cargo jacket and boots or what about a knit and belt combo over the dress? You’re welcome.

Outfit post: Cargo crushing

Wearing: Witchery jacket, BigW striped top, JustJeans jeans, payless shoes, Witchery bag, JCrew necklace, Diva ring.

Cargo style jackets such as this one have been around for a while and continue to be a big hit with international style bloggers (here, here and here).  I’m not usually into such casual pieces for myself but I think I finally understand the appeal: it’s so versatile.  It also helps to bring a bit of attitude to your outfit – kind of the same affect as a great denim jacket.  Though a fairly casual piece I look forward to smartening it up for work with a white shirt, black pencil skirt and ankle boots.  Why I think this style works is it is slim-lined, does not contain too many pockets – which can create unwanted bulk – and importantly, it has a draw cord at the waist making this piece more feminine and flattering.  How do you wear your cargo pieces?
