Fab Friday Finds: Party dresses – the Pear edition

I’ve had a few questions lately about what to wear to all the Christmas parties that are coming up soon. And also what shapes to wear. Depending on the type of party – I always think a dress is the best option. With that in mind I thought I would use the next few ‘fab Friday finds’ to show you some options that may suit your hot bod.

For those luscious pear shapes out there:

A maxi dress can actually be super flattering on many Pears. Depending on your shape and size, it’s probably best to look for flowy options – like this beauty from Asos – as the more clingy column shapes may not work. Pears often hide from pleats but this smaller pleat detail down the centre of the dress is actually very lengthening and flattering. While I favour heels for parties – if you’ve already got the height – sparkly flats will work.

Ahh the ol ‘fit and flare’. This dress shape – which is generally fitted a the top and fuller at the bottom – is kind to pears – and also many other body shapes. There are lots of versions, colours, patterns out there. If you’d prefer to hide your upper arms – consider laying a ¾ top underneath or throwing over a denim jacket. It can also be worn with collared shirts or knits underneath for winter . Score.

This one is from Dorothy Perkins – but you can find many more at Asos or in stores such as Sportsgirl and review. Navy is such a great basic and looks rockin with red, animal print, black, nude, gold, fuschia, orange etc accessories. Just not all together :)

Have you got Chritmas parties coming up? What are you planning to wear?

One piece 3 – ways: Burgundy blouse – Weekend

One piece 3-ways: Burgundy blouse: Weekend

Silk shirt on the weekend end? Hell yeah! I love the exaggerated length of this Witchery blouse as it can be worn tucked or untucked. I also love the Burgundy against the navy. The denim dresses down the silk to make it more weekend appropriate.

Maxi dresses are a staple in many ladies wardrobes in summer – but what to do with it when the temperature drops?  Layering is the key – try a cargo jacket and boots or what about a knit and belt combo over the dress? You’re welcome.
