Outfit post: Pink and grey

Wearing: Veronika Maine jacket, Old Navy tee, Laura Ashley shirt, Ruby shoes, Witchery bag, sporstgirl sunglasses.

Pink and grey are becoming a bit of a go-to combo for me. With the weather still not quite hot, the tweed of this jacket doesn’t feel stuffy at all. What colours are you reaching for with this in-between weather?

Also – see how I wore this skirt during winter.

Outfit post: In the pink

Wearing: Veronika Maine top, Laura Ashley skirt, Portmans jacket and belt, Target shoes, Witchery bag, Colette ring, Anthropologie earrings.

There are a couple of reasons I wanted to share this outfit. Firstly, it demonstrates a grown up way to wear pink. Although it’s hard to see from these pictures the top is actually pale pink which I have set against the fuchsia of the skirt. The grown up shapes of the pieces and the lack of frill or flowery design make this adult appropriate while still allowing me to indulge in the girly shade. Secondly it goes against the rule that you should only wear darker shades on your bigger body parts. Despite having a large bust, I chose to wear the lighter colour on top – and I think it works. The lesson here is don’t be afraid to swap things around occasionally and think a little outside the box – you might just find a fab new way to wear something.
