Fab Friday Find: An obvious choice

dress2

As you may have learnt by now, this girl loves her stripes. Thick, thin, coloured, chevron – I’ll take it. So naturally I am drawn to this Trenery cotton shirt dress. It’s a little loose in shape so good in this heat. Petite ladies can probably get away with it as is (would look swell with a fedora) but I also like it belted (think red, navy, tan) if you have more of an hourglass shape.  And don’t be put off by the wide stripes – they can work.  Throw on some sandals, ballets flats or a wedge heel and a cool pair of sunglasses and you’re good to go. I also think it will work well in the cooler months layered over long sleeve tees or shirts – something like this.

I realise I’ve done a lot of black and white finds lately but other than it being a classic palette- it is also all the rage for the next spring/summer (here and here).

Hope you have a great long weekend x

Outfit post: Emerald green

emerald green

Wearing: Topshop blazer, Veronika Maine top, Jeanswest jeans, Solesociety shoes, Witchery bag, Colette and Asos bracelets , Diva ring, Colette earrings.

How’s your week going?

With Pantone – the authority in colour – declaring emerald green the colour of 2013 – I thought I should do my first outfit post of the year wearing it.  See here how I wore this blazer (and top) for a work outfit last year.

Outfit post: A pop of pink

Wearing: Portmans top and belt, Veronika Mine skirt, Witchery bag, Wittner shoes, Lovissa necklace, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

I look pretty pleased with myself in these shots. While I was happy it was Friday (nothing feels as good as a Friday night – am I right?!) I was also loving how just a pop of colour bumped this outfit up a notch in the style stakes – accessories really are so good for that.

How was your weekend?

Coles clothes

I usually find grocery shopping pretty dull. While I love to eat, the whole supermarket event can be pretty painful. With clothing now being stocked in many Coles supermarkets – this may change.

Called ‘MIX apparel’ the range is fairly casual – ranging from smart blouses, skirts, tunics and jackets to more relaxed exercise attire. There are plenty of good basics here too. From what I can see the prices don’t get higher than $40 – with many between $15 and $30 – and the quality is pretty good. I’ve actually snapped up a black blouse – I think it was around $30 – and it looks a lot more expensive than it was. There is also a limited accessories collection.

If this still isn’t enough to get out to the supermarket – you can also purchase online.
Some of my picks from the latest collection:

Stripe tee

Jacket

Pencil skirt

Outfit post: Mish-mash

Wearing: Big W top and jeans, Jcrew chambray shirt, Witchery jacket and bag, Innui heels, Bangles from Diva, Colette and Asos.

I wore this over the weekend. I felt like wearing some of my fave items. Together. This was the result – quite a layered look. I kept it flattering by balancing out the loose layers with a fitted stripe tee, slim cut jeans and heels. Also the jacket helped define the waist with the drawstring detail. There’s something about lots of bangles that feels good. And a bit cool.

What were you wearing this weekend?

Outfit post: One piece 3-ways – Denim jacket

Wearing: BigW top, Witchery jacket, Laura Ashley skirt, Inniu ankle boots, Witchery bag, Colette cuffs, Diva earrings and ring, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

I’m back from Melbourne and ready for another stylish week.  I wanted to showcase the denim jacket – promoted by this earlier post.  I wore this for a causal drink date and love how the denim helps to tone down the pink.  I also find I wear my denim jacket with sleeved rolled – it’s the little things that make a difference.  How do you wear you denim jacket?

Fab Friday Finds: Winter dresses

I have such a soft spot for dresses. Here are some I’m loving….

Well played David Lawrence. This deep berry colour is so beautiful – particularly against alabaster skin. It looks great with all the closet staples of tan, black, grey and navy. It also loves animal print (but who doesn’t?!)

No you’re not having a dress hallucination (although I wouldn’t mind one of those) it’s just a bit of a blurry shot of this really special Trenery dress. The colour is lovely and the ruching and sleeve length is so flattering.

It couldn’t be a proper post without filling my weekly stripe quota! It’s probably more colour block then stripes but whatever you call it – me likey. I really like it under a faux fur vest with boots and tights. It is also fab with a camel blazer (worn open please) for work. Witchery. Love.

Outfit post: Great colour couples

Wearing: Jcrew dress, BigW stripe top, Colette necklace, Portmans jacket

Just a quick sneak peek of today’s outfit – the weather is so miserable I haven’t been able to get a good full body shot. This outfit did get me thinking about great colour couples – and what better match than red and camel? What colours do you think are total soul mates?
