ASOS $100 outfit challenge

I was asked to join Dicountcoder’s $100 ASOS outfit challenge – an entire outfit from ASOS – for under $100. I love a good style challenge especially one that proves you don’t have to spend much to look great.

I went with an on-trend going out outfit. I was particularly impressed with the peplum dress (under $30!) and the animal print belt – a bargain at just $13.05.

The tally:
Dress – $28.54
Shoes – $48.93
Belt – $13.05
Ring – $3.26
Total = $93.78
What do you think?

Say no to hanger-discrimination

You know the scenario – you’re looking through a store and the clothes on the hangers look, well, blah. Ordinary. Ugly even.

Please stop crying – you’ve just a got a simple case of hanger-discrimination. We’ve all had it. It looks unappealing on the hanger, you’re thinking why would I want that on this body?!   But here is an easy cure: try it on.

Who would think this:

Could look like this?

Or this:

like this?

Sure we don’t all  have the luxury of Photoshop or  a wind machine following us around all day but see how much better theses pieces  (from David Lawrence) look like on an actual body?!! A few well placed accessories also help.

Go on – get in that change room.

Fab Friday Finds: Winter dresses

I have such a soft spot for dresses. Here are some I’m loving….

Well played David Lawrence. This deep berry colour is so beautiful – particularly against alabaster skin. It looks great with all the closet staples of tan, black, grey and navy. It also loves animal print (but who doesn’t?!)

No you’re not having a dress hallucination (although I wouldn’t mind one of those) it’s just a bit of a blurry shot of this really special Trenery dress. The colour is lovely and the ruching and sleeve length is so flattering.

It couldn’t be a proper post without filling my weekly stripe quota! It’s probably more colour block then stripes but whatever you call it – me likey. I really like it under a faux fur vest with boots and tights. It is also fab with a camel blazer (worn open please) for work. Witchery. Love.

One piece 3 – ways: Burgundy blouse – Weekend

One piece 3-ways: Burgundy blouse: Weekend

Silk shirt on the weekend end? Hell yeah! I love the exaggerated length of this Witchery blouse as it can be worn tucked or untucked. I also love the Burgundy against the navy. The denim dresses down the silk to make it more weekend appropriate.
