Outfit post: Autumn

I adore this time of year. I reckon Autumn is on par with Spring as my favourite season. I’m so grateful to leave in a place where you really experience the seasons. I love the clear, crisp days and beautiful surroundings that are beginning to change colour. It’s also a great time to get dressed. Not too cold that you’re lost in a sea of stockings and scarves but still cool enough to get away with a few more layers and , as I managed to in these shots, a big coat thrown over your shoulders ever so nonchalantly.

Are you enjoying the cool change? What is your fave season to get dressed for?

Wearing: Old Navy tee, Veronika Maine skirt, jacket and belt, Wittner heels, Witchery wallet.

We took things pretty causal for our early Valentines date – a lovely dinner at Grazing.

Still can’t get enough of these pink heels. What did you do/wear for V-day?

Outfit post: Latte

Wearing: Veronika Maine jacket, Witchery blouse and bag, Trenery skirt, Portmans belt, Sole Society shoes.

Sometimes I struggle with something clever to call my posts.  As I walked into the loungeroom on this day my husband said: ‘You look like a giant latte’. Thanks honey… I think.  Anyway I guess he was sort of right – I was trying to achieve a monochromatic look based on creams and caramels.  Wearing variations of one colour family is super chic and flattering. The red lip adds the exclamation point.

Outfit post: Emerald green

Wearing: Topshop blazer, Veronika Maine top, Jeanswest jeans, Solesociety shoes, Witchery bag, Colette and Asos bracelets , Diva ring, Colette earrings.

How’s your week going?

With Pantone – the authority in colour – declaring emerald green the colour of 2013 – I thought I should do my first outfit post of the year wearing it.  See here how I wore this blazer (and top) for a work outfit last year.

Outfit post: A pop of pink

Wearing: Portmans top and belt, Veronika Mine skirt, Witchery bag, Wittner shoes, Lovissa necklace, Sportsgirl sunglasses.

I look pretty pleased with myself in these shots. While I was happy it was Friday (nothing feels as good as a Friday night – am I right?!) I was also loving how just a pop of colour bumped this outfit up a notch in the style stakes – accessories really are so good for that.

How was your weekend?

Outfit post: Expensive

Wearing: Veronika Maine dress (worn as a top) and coat, Trenery skirt, Jcrew belt, Innui heels, Zara bag, Asos cuff, Witchery ring, Sportsgirl sunglasses

These were some of the other shots from the what I wore challenge. There is something about different shades of camel that is just so expensive-looking. The deep burgundy also adds more richness. Yum.

Also trend alert – this red wine colour will be big again next winter – its being renamed ‘oxblood’ and is everywhere overseas at the moment – here, here, here.

Outfit post: Pink and grey

Wearing: Veronika Maine jacket, Old Navy tee, Laura Ashley shirt, Ruby shoes, Witchery bag, sporstgirl sunglasses.

Pink and grey are becoming a bit of a go-to combo for me. With the weather still not quite hot, the tweed of this jacket doesn’t feel stuffy at all. What colours are you reaching for with this in-between weather?

Also – see how I wore this skirt during winter.

Outfit post: New favourite

Wearing: Sportsgirl dress, shoes and sunglasses, Veronika Maine jacket,Jcrew belt, Zara bag, Colette and Diva bangles.

You’re going to be seeing a lot of this dress. It ticks so many boxes for me – structured, collared, a chambray colour and shape that can be styled so many way – oh and it was half price. Please don’t cry.
It’s really starting to feel like spring and I’m welcoming it with open arms – and my new dress.

Fab Friday Finds: White hot

Continuing on from my earlier post – the white obsession continues. It’s a shade that requires a bit of confidence – and the right underwear. Everyone can wear it but remember it will draw attention to the area it covers. Done right and it’s so dam chic.

I’ve chosen three pieces from the new online store for Veronika Maine – warning: your credit card may be injured during the reading of this post.

This is so right on so many levels. The shape is heaven on those hourglasses among us (oh and those sleeves!)and the off-white shade is actually very flattering. So many ways to wear this – try different belt and shoe combos. It will look spectacular at a Christmas party with bright red heels and lips.

The higher waist and longer hem means it must be warn with heels. Wedges look fab. It also looks best with tops tucked in to highlight your tiny waist.

There’s something so expensive about a white pair of wide pants . Dress up with a sparkly or bright tank for cocktails or with a denim jacket and/or giant hat for coffee. Heels and great (nude) underwear are essential.

Outfit post: Peplum and prints

Wearing: Veronika Maine top, Cue dress (worn as skirt) Jcrew belt

Apologies for the fuzzy photo. It was the end of the day (see messy hair) and the light was fading. I just wanted to show you a couple of things – the new peplum top (which you can expect to see a lot more this Summer), how easy print mixing can be (just add a belt) and also how to wear a dress as a skirt. Well that’s acutally three things. Bonus :)
